I am writing & reading through old journals (I have stacks and stacks). Some make sense, some don't at all, some are poems, phrases, pictures, scattered thoughts that don't add up...I'll share them either way. These are typically free flow thoughts that are never intended for songs or anything, they just kinda happen.
From One Side to the Other. By Autumn
These days I go from one side to the other Open the refrigerator door; keep it cool just like my Mother Brother Sam would rather keep things shut See, I can do that too From one side to the other From red to green to blue
It's a tightrope, baby Can you walk a real fine line? From one side to the other From hers to yours to mine
When the elevators broken, then we have to take the stairs But the houses with one-story, well, see, no one really cares
Skip, skip down the street Turn the page, ain't life sweet
Lately I have noticed, we're not skipping down So skip ahead to find out what will happen now
Run, run down the track Ride away & don't look back
I'm gonna buy a clock, keep the hands at 10 and 2 Fall back, spring forward, red to green to blue I'm not gonna worry up until my time is through You just let me know; and I'll just never know Tick to hold on tight, tock to let it go
I carry my new clock, without worries, without cares I carry all my stories, even when I take the stairs I carry the tightrope, for good balance and good measure I carry one for you, to skip or walk on at your leisure I carry the fridge, I carry my brother I carry as I go, from one-side-to-the-other.
